Task based tests ask you to complete specific activities on a site, app, or prototype. The customer might ask you to perform actions like searching for a product, signing up for an account, or completing a checkout flow. These tests help customers understand what's working or can be improved in their product experiences.
Are Task based tests recorded?
Some Task based tests are recorded (screen, audio, and sometimes video), while others are not. You can always check the badge on the test card to know if the test requires computer, screen, or face recording.
What kind of tasks will I complete?
The fun part about Task based tests is that you can always expect something different! Tasks vary depending on the customer’s goals.

Do I need to install anything?
Some Task based tests require a browser extension or mobile app. Don't worry—we'll let you know about any setup requirements before you start your test.
How do payments work?
Payments for Task based tests depend on the estimated time and complexity. Since these tests may include recording your screen and voice, payments are usually higher than surveys. You can always find the exact payment amount on the test invite.
Payments are sent to your linked PayPal account within 14 days after successfully completing a test.
I can't finish the test. What do I do?
- If the issue is with the test or recorder, use the built-in Help button to report the problem.
- If the issue is on your end (like a disruption or technical setup), exit the test.
What if there's a technical issue?
Check your setup
Make sure your device meets our system requirements and that your browser is up to date.
Test won’t load
Refresh the page, clear your browser cache, or try switching to another supported browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari).
Use the Help feature
If you run into problems during the test, click the Help feature on the task widget. This lets us and the customer know right away.
