Get your device ready
Before you start your session, take a few minutes to check your setup so you can focus on sharing your feedback without any technical issues.
Choose a device that meets our system requirements. Most sessions work best when you:
- Use a stable internet connection
- Update your browser or operating system
- Plug in or fully charge your device
Check your setup for voice, screen, or camera recording
During some sessions, you might need to speak, share your screen, or use your camera. When that's the case, it's a good idea to take a moment to get set up.
If you need to speak during your session, make sure your microphone works well. Try doing a test recording first and find a quiet space to avoid distractions.

You should close any personal chats, tabs, windows, apps, or other private information you don't want visible to others. Take steps to protect your privacy while testing.
Sometimes you'll use a tool—called a recorder—to record your screen, voice, or camera. If you need to install a recorder, follow any provided instructions to grant access to your device.
Give great feedback
Your honest reactions show what works and what doesn’t. These tips will help you share feedback that’s clear and helpful.
Read the scenario and complete each task in order. By following the steps, you ensure your feedback is useful.
Say what you’re doing and why as you move through the session. This helps others understand your perspective in real time.
Try saying things like:
- “I’m not sure what to click here.”
- “I thought this would take me somewhere else.”
- “I like how this part works—it’s really clear.”
- “I’m confused by this page layout.”
Share what you truly think, even if something feels confusing or doesn’t meet your expectations. We all rely on honest feedback to get better.
Know when to pause or ask for help
Sometimes things don’t go as planned—and that’s okay! If you hit a technical issue, get stuck, or feel unsure, pause the session and check for ways to report the problem or ask for help.
