What happens after your first think out loud test
Once you submit your first think out loud test, our Quality Team will review it. This helps us understand if you're ready to share this type of feedback with customers—and, if not, what support or guidance we can offer to make sure you are.
- Tasks completed as instructed
- Spoken feedback that's clear and easy to understand
- Clear, audible audio
- A complete recording without technical issues
Why you might not receive new tests right away
While your first think out loud test is under review, you won’t receive invites for more of these test types.
This pause is expected and temporary. It gives us time to review your first test so we can send you the right opportunities going forward.
During this time, you may still receive:
- Surveys
- Other test types that don’t require thinking out loud
How long the review usually takes
In most cases, the review takes up to 7 business days. During busy periods, it may take a little longer.
You don’t need to take any action while you wait. We’ll reach out once the review is complete.
What happens next
After the review, you can expect one of the following outcomes:
You’ll receive more think out loud tests
If your test meets our quality standards, you’ll start receiving think out loud test invitations. Well done!
We'll ask you to try again
If technical or audio issues affected your test, or if you need a bit more practice:
- We may invite you to retry a think out loud test
- You’ll still receive payment for your original test as scheduled
- We’ll review the retry before sending more think out loud test invitations
Tip: Please take time to review any feedback. Our Quality Team shares personalized notes to help you succeed on your next test.
You won’t receive think out loud tests in the future
If your test had unresolved technical issues or serious quality issues:
- You won’t receive future think out loud test invitations
- You may still be able to take other test types
- Payment for the test may be canceled if the feedback wasn’t usable for the customer
Keep going
We know this can feel disappointing, but you can continue taking test types and sharing your unique perspective in different ways.
Your account is no longer eligible for testing
In rare cases, an account may be removed from the platform if it doesn’t follow our Contributor Terms or policies.
If this happens:
- You won’t be able to take future tests
- Any related payments may be canceled
How we'll notify you
When the review is finished, we’ll notify you by email. You can also find feedback from the Quality Team in your test history.
If feedback is available, we recommend reviewing it before your next test. Many participants find it helpful for improving audio setup, pacing, or how they share their thoughts.
